The absence of such restrictions can work in reverse. At reception on directions like « 40+ » only the certificate of maturity is required. In most universities there are no other restrictions: neither age nor assessment. This means that current high school graduates who, for some reason, have not passed the national matriculation exam (egzamin dojrzałości) can also benefit from faculty training for seniors. Instead of being forced to enroll in paid distance learning, they will be able to study for free in the « 40+ » programs. »Yes, this can happen. The basis for admission will be a high school diploma, » admits Professor Snopko and immediately notes, « but we have a certain number of places, and only after exceeding the established limit will we select candidates on this principle . « The professor also claims that at this stage, his higher education institution – the University of Bialystok – considers the « 40+ » direction as experimental: « Now we will just open the set, and later analyze what will happen. »Employees of universities involved in the work of admission commissions are deeply convinced of the success of the « 40+ » direction. They claim that every week they receive many phone calls with questions from people who want to return to the path of education. Their enthusiasm is confirmed by the data of the General Statistical Office of Poland (Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego), according to which more and more Poles over the age of 30 are interested in inpatient free education. In 2008, there were about 5.5 thousand. And four years later (in 2012) – almost twice as much. At the same time, the total number of « 30+ » students in Poland decreased by almost 30,000. man. »If we talk about the reasons that attract the older age group to full-time study at the university, they are different. Some did not get interested in education at the time, but instead founded a company, firm or just went to work, and now feel the need to fill this gap. want to raise the level of existing education, and the third – to develop their favorite hobby, bordering on passion, « – says Professor Snopko.Professor Zaradny looks at it a little more restrainedly: « I don’t think that the enrollment boom in the » 40+ « areas will last forever. You need to choose the program competently and wisely to avoid an unjustifiably large number of areas. »Anna Wittenberg, Damian Furmańczyk, http://biznes.interia.pl/wiadomosci/news/uczelnie-dojrzaly-do-dojrzalych,2027812,4199
